The Weekend Schedule

FRIDAY (July 11)

(for registered guests) Join us for wine and cheese, hors d’oeuvres, and microbrews as we greet our out-of-town guests and diehard locals. Meet new friends and get reacquainted with old ones. Check in at registration for your personalized lanyard. It’s your ticket to all the festivities. For you long-haulers… could the end of the road look any better?

SATURDAY (July 12)

9:00 am – Meet at Goulds’ for some high-octane coffee, bagels and pastries. Registration continues until 11:00 am. Prep and (maybe) polish cars, reunite with friends and make some new ones. Join our impromptu tech sessions as we solve last minute problems, fix some bugs, exchange info and parts, and share rides in each other’s cars.

11:00 am – THE FIRST BIG EVENT – This extended Micro-tour departs for Wachusett Mountain where we’ll traverse mountain road and ascend to the top of the peak! This is a long 120 mile roundtrip tour on gorgeous country roads, to the top of the mountain where the views are incredible. Our little cars have made this short five-mile gradual assent without any problems, so don’t worry. If you prefer, you can leave your car at the mountain base, and ride with another participant. After the mountain climb, we will have a wonderful lunch at Barbers Crossing in Sterling MA (separate checks). Then enjoy a country ride back to the Gould’s with a stop at Matchbox Motors Microcar Museum for a tour of all of the Goulds’ other derelict projects.

6:00 pm – Everyone parades back to the Goulds’ for a feast fit for a queen and king of the road. This is a favorite part of the weekend activities as the only thing that this group enjoys more than cars is the food!

Evening – For those who still have some energy, we may take a short evening cruise to visit the local ice cream joint or you may swing by the historic Wayside Inn and Grist Mill. At the least, we’re kicking back at the Goulds’ for Charles’ World Famous Two Stroke Frozen Margarita Party! Serious margaritas, general merriment and irresponsible behavior wind down the days’ activities, as people reminisce about their initiation into the world of microcars, and the stories of their personal acquisitions. The margaritas tend to remove inhibitions and enhance the stories through extreme exaggeration. Poetic license and creativity are encouraged. We might break out last year’s Preservation game to test your road weary reflexes.

SUNDAY (July 13)

Sunday morning will begin with fresh coffee and pastries as we prepare for Sundays beautiful driving tour through alternate country roads followed by a Chinese Buffet lunch at Bamboo, and another ice cream stop after lunch.  For those die hards who are still standing, we will arrange a visit to a local watering hole for Sunday’s farewell dinner before the weekend wraps up.

We will have the Goulds’ Certified Roadside Assistance Program (G-CRAP) in place to address any embarrassing roadside breakdowns along the way, as well as the Goulds’ Seats & Asses Program (G-SAAP) so that even those who do not own a microcar can ride along and enjoy all of the fun of the driving tours.
